Mildred E. Lutz, 1921-2003, Tipton

Mildred Emily Lutz, 82, of Tipton, died Sunday, Dec. 21, 2003, at Tipton Oak Manor in Tipton.

She was born April 17, 1921, in Tipton, a daughter of Alfred M. and Emily Mudd Fry. On Oct. 5, 1940, she was married to Herman J. Lutz, who survives of the home.

Mrs. Lutz lived her entire life in the Tipton area. She was a member of St. Andrew's Catholic Church and the St. Andrew's Altar Society. She graduated from Tipton High School in 1939.

Survivors also include four sons, Mitchell Lutz, David Lutz, Maurice Lutz and Glen Lutz, all of Tipton; two daughters, Mary Ellen Cortriss, of Tipton, and Margaret Lawson, of California, Mo.; 21 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents, four sons, Kenneth F. Lutz, Gerald Lutz, Robert Lutz, and William Lutz, and three grandsons, Paul, Brian and Travis.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Andrew's Catholic Church in Tipton, with Father David Veit officiating. Burial will be in St. Andrew's Cemetery in Tipton.

Pallbearers will be Don Becker, Chris Cotriss, Ken Lutz, Brandon Lutz, A.J. Lutz and Eric Lawson.

Friends may call after 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Meisenheimer Funeral Home in Tipton, where the family will receive friends from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday. An Altar Society rosary will be recited at 3 p.m. Tuesday, with a prayer service following visitation at the funeral home.

The family suggests memorial contributions to St. Andrew's School, the American Diabetes Association or the Alzheimer's Association.
